The Weight of Words

Words—and the letters that comprise them—even before there is lead to the paper, carry with them the energy infused by the creator, the thinker, as intended. Energy is infused via thought and emotion, like cargo being loaded onto an empty freight train. As each parcel and pallet is carefully placed, it carries the gift of what has either been ordered by the recipient or offered by the giver if gifted.

This form of energy exchange is denser and carries more weight—not physical, but energetic—than mere spoken words that float into the wind and ethers. Spoken words too carry energy, but at times are confused and mixed with vibrations that may not match the words themselves. The written word carries with it true intent—whether it stems from turmoil or from love. Each message is imbued with the energy penned for the intended recipient, and may even be felt by passersby or those never meant to receive it. Such is the concentration, the voracity, and the potency of loaded words.

Like wings on the letters, they are carried to the level of energy of the sender. This is why they may never reach the intended target when they carry the weight of judgment or dissent. The intended receiver may be on a different, faster-spinning disc of energy, and the words will be flung off before landing—like a child trying to board a fast-moving merry-go-round. You must be on the same level to receive.

Breathing levity and life—the very energy that lifts balloons—will also raise your being, your spirit, so that you may gain new perspectives and view others with compassion rather than disdain. Stay above. Rise above the fray. Focus on your smile—your reflection of beauty in the world. Your smile and your energy are infectious. Spread that, rather than ill will.
