The Necessity of Repotting: Adapting to Change for Growth
Symbols such as "#" have different connotations and meanings, yet they look the same way. It depends, as does everything, on the perspective of the viewer. Depending on their life experiences, the viewer may be more rooted in their own understanding and see "#" as a number symbol. Conversely, those from a different perspective, perhaps shaped by time or age, may view it as a hashtag for social media. Everything remains the same; it is ever-present and only depends on perspective.
Perspectives may change, yet, like a plant that has been potted for a long time in the same container, the feelings surrounding any given subject may become tightly and firmly bound—root-bound. This is not healthy, as having only one perspective that is so entrenched can prevent the ability to loosen the ties that bind and grow further if placed into a different container. Repotting is necessary for growth.
A change in perspectives or allowing space for growth is essential for well-rooted thoughts and feelings about any given subject to loosen and develop in different, or healthier, directions. Some may not survive even when given the space to grow. Overly held or rooted thoughts, beliefs, or circumstances may prevent the roots from unfurling, inhibiting the flower or plant from continuing to flourish. Some will thrive, and some will not.
Ultimately, it is the choice of the essence of the person, plant, or subject whether to flower and flourish or become stagnant and root-bound. The choice lies with the entity in the experience. The space for growth is present, and the pot is broken. The call to grow, to bloom, or to remain in the same configuration and deteriorate is yours. The grounds are fertile for growth in thought and action.
