Surrendering to the Present: Living Life Fully
Stepping off the sidelines and into the game of life requires letting go, full immersion, and complete surrender. Counterintuitive to making it happen, it’s in the release—the trusting that all prevails. Trusting not in yourself, but in the universe, or God as named, is surrender rather than submission. It involves giving up the effort in order to gain complete control, rather than merely observing life. It is about living life to the fullest—flying without flapping your wings.
Enjoy the view, the ride, the effortless receiving, or selecting the parts and experiences that you want. Place your order through desire, then know it is delivered. Although it’s immediate, you want it to arrive when you’re completely ready for it. You wouldn’t want to experience all your desires at once; you might not appreciate or even be able to consume them all. Instead, enjoy each one, and when you’re ready for the next, it will appear—as if by magic.
At a restaurant, you may order several courses, trusting that they will arrive in the order and amounts that you can consume and want to consume—bit by bit. If everything were delivered to you the moment you ordered it, it wouldn’t be appreciated. Allow the universe to be the ultimate server, the consummate and most efficient server that it is, and enjoy each and every perfectly crafted and divine morsel. The satisfaction and appreciation for each bite, where not a bit is wasted, is what you want.
This is the same with your life. Enjoy each morsel, each bite, rather than worrying about what’s next. Relish what is in front of you right now. Worry not about tomorrow, as that doesn’t exist. There is only now. The excitement for the “tomorrows” is what you have in the moment you’re experiencing. That is the best, the tastiest part to be relished. Trust that the universe is the ultimate chef, and enjoy the feeling of right now.
