Release the pressure

Wound tight... you’ve heard the expression. Picture a rubber band wound until it’s tight like a spring. Release it and it goes immediately back to its natural state. You’re much the same. How to release? It’s the allowing of letting go to return to your natural state. Like a cork or beach ball held underwater, it takes force or pressure to hold it there.

So when you’re under pressure that you’ve allowed by seemingly outside forces, you’re in a not natural state of being. If you’d release the pressure either slowly, like the pressure released from a kettle until you’re in your unlocked position, you won’t be able to open into your treasure. Like a pressure cooker, you can either quick release by opening the valve, which is what meditation or allowing does for you, or you can allow natural release by taking a walk or sitting in nature.

The result is the same: you’ll come to your natural state, which is calm. It may not seem natural to you because you’ve held your position in the state of stress for so long that it feels natural. All of your body, your senses, hold to the position, ready to fight or flee at any moment. It puts everything within your body and mind in that ready state, ready to burst, ready for action. But when kept in that state for so long, it's like holding your breath past where it's comfortable until it becomes detrimental. Your body will give you clear indications of the need to release pressure, either through gentle nudges at first, through headaches or lethargy, but more complex and dire if left unheeded, such as stroke or aneurysm. It seems logical when you understand, right?

So release the pressure often, meditate, walk, be. Allow the natural energy and love that pervades to envelop and provide the much-needed gentle flow to your entire being. You are loved, there is love surrounding, just accept and allow.
