Understanding the Ego and Embracing the Role
The ego, YOUR ego, is the belief that you are the role or personality that you're playing in this body. The spirit, or higher self, knows that it’s all a role and a choice of who you came to be this time. Many times, you—not the personality, but YOU, who you are before you came into this lifetime and who you are when you leave—understand and know and guide. If this upsets or bothers you, it’s your ego self that is doing that.
Religion is the egoic way of dealing with all the unknown, and there has been fear and judgment and power built into all that for some to control others. This has been written into a commonly held belief or script. Yet each of you knows or will remember who you are at times, even while there or definitely upon exiting.
When playing a role, the actor doesn't truly believe they’re the person they’re portraying, except for when they’re on the stage or on set. If they tend or begin to believe it always, even during downtime, then they would be considered insane. Which is the same as it is in this role of this matrix.
Play the role, yes, play it well. Enjoy it. You get to decide the character traits and even the outcome of the play. Enjoy it. Be, do, and have what you want. Act as if, and it will be. It’s a brief role—a role of a lifetime, one may say. You’re the star. Revel in the moment, the now.
