the Power to Pause

Breathing into a paper sack is for down-regulating your system, controlling the amount of airflow you are able to take in. But it is much the same as being in a busy space with a lot of activity or many people coming and going—each with their own agenda, seemingly only out for themselves. The same nervous activity in the body can be activated or brought on by the frenetic activity of individuals’ minds or busy spaces.

In cases such as those, it isn’t necessary to pick up on or take on other people’s cyclic energy. You may pause and put yourself in a calm state by the mere awareness that you are safe. You may down-regulate your system by the pause, by the breath, by the mind.

It is a powerful tool—the most powerful tool in your physical toolkit—your mind, and with that, the awareness that it does have such power. Controlling the thoughts, slowing them, and taking a few beats is beneficial for you. Just by taking a few deep breaths, you can turn to the awareness of your autonomy, your safety, your power.

Breathe a few deep, cleansing breaths—removing the energy you may have gathered from others—by the thought and awareness that you have the ability. Offer yourself self-talk as a reminder (the knowing) that you are okay, that you are whole, that you can pause and gather and breathe no matter where you are. This is your superpower.

No need to change into a costume or leap from tall buildings—the power to pause, to breathe before re-engaging in your frenetic surroundings, is all the power you need to continue beaming your vibration and to settle into the game of life.

Re-enter when you’re ready. It’s all okay, no matter the situation you may find yourself in.

Try this as a practice drill at will; practice before it’s needed and it will become your natural, instinctual remedy. It is all vibrational control—breathe softly, deeply, until your vibration is again beaming the clear, strong signal of you.
