The ONE Note

Universal Truths

That UNI — held in a single chord — and VERSE, note by all whether known or unknown.

There is one call to worship, one underlying yet always-playing note that may be tuned to or ignored.

The one that gives you but a brief pause if ignored over and over, or a pregnant pause if you tend to listen.

The one that says, this is not you — whenever you are considering doing something that may bring either monetary or human-considered wealth or status but doesn’t line up with your inner tone.

The breath taken in the pause, if intentional, to feel into you, to tune, will always land you in your true self. Use your breath as the tuning fork that it is. In the pause, pregnant or otherwise, use your breath as your inner compass, your wayfinder, your truth-teller.

Listen to and tune to that, and it will bring you more to tune to — that brings joy instead of shame or greed.

Greed is the momentum of the humanistic ways winning out or thriving over time. Yet if following your True Tone, your True Self, you will not only gain material wealth and status if that is your desire, but you will not care about it — as you are enjoying in joy what you are experiencing and how you are experiencing it.

That is true winning at life. Not the striving against, or the competitive nature of besting another, but finding the pure satisfaction of feeling good from tuning to your own inner compass.

That compass will elevate you off the competitive game board into a realm you aren’t even aware of — like boarding the legendary and mythical train at platform 9 ¾, or boarding your own magic carpet ride.

You have no idea.

So turn your eyes inward rather than facing outward for comparison or competition. Do what brings you peace, then contentment, then joy and elation. The giddiness of that feeling will and does propel you to new boards of play, new discs of excitement.

Tune and prepare for takeoff.
