The Direction of Relief

You do have a choice, and you’ve always had a choice in your life — in how you feel physically and emotionally about any given topic.
Turning toward, and stepping toward, a better-feeling thought or viewpoint offers relief. Your body is north-pointing you, using discomfort or even pain as guidance.
Belaboring the discomfort, or unknowingly keeping your joy at bay by withholding appreciation for the many gifts already present in your life, digs you further into a hole of discontent and displeasure.
Climbing out of the hole of your own making begins with a shift in your gaze — a looking up, a releasing of what is held in the body.
Like digging an infinite hole in the ground, you will continue seeking for what cannot be found while focusing downward.
Lift your eyes.
Release the control.
Feel the breeze.
And take the first step up and out toward true personal freedom.
It may seem arduous at first, but once you gain solid footing, move one step in the direction of relief.
Without care or concern for where it will take you, or the treasures at the unknown destination.
Only one step.
Pause.
Experience.
Stay in the present beauty of each step on the path that blooms with every better-feeling thought of relief.
Flowing with this Earth, all that matters is this moment.
