Running Your Own Race: Harnessing Personal Momentum

Like a horse behind a gate at a race, you're ready to spring forth and run your own race. The horse is never racing against another, but only running full out at the behest of the jockey on its back. With you, your paths or lanes are cleared energetically through the soft use of meditation or clearing. However you clear your lane or path doesn't matter, but it’s the absence of thinking or feeling in opposition to the clearing that allows you to open your gate and run free.

You are your own jockey, horse, and gate. The pressure or excitement that is building behind the gate only provides increased or contained excitement to propel you further down your path than just plodding along. Like a slingshot, the further back the band is drawn, the further the stone will propel. So use meditation or whatever method truly clears your mind so that you are open to receive the ideas or impulses that will propel you to the next and the next and the next thing that feels better along the way.

Like the stones in the water that provide you with the path to jump across to the other side of the stream, you focus only on the next stone rather than seeing how far or how many more you need to jump to reach where you think you're headed. Enjoy the jump, each rock you land on. They will appear as you've reached each new level or stone.

Run your own race. Open the gate when the right amount of pressure has built to propel you forward. Pressure, as in excitement, will feel comfortable and exciting. Go for it!
