Relieving without Reliving
Going within and internalizing—direct to your tone, to your source—is the path of least resistance, the stream with the least encumbrances.
You can work from the outside in, talking it through with a completely conscious mind in an attempt to reach the center. But isn’t it easier to go from the inside out?
The alternate route is more cumbersome—like peeling the thin, pour-out layers of an onion until you reach the root, the core. You’ll be passing through multiple layers that may represent years of hurt and pain. But if you were shining from the inside out, you wouldn’t bypass those moments—you’d shine light on them, revealing the aspects of the bruises without reliving and refueling them.
The layers may be rejuvenated with the light of your source, becoming whole, complete—not to be peeled away, but rather absorbed and incorporated, making the whole stronger, less porous to outside influences, and more sovereign unto yourself.
Both streams may be effective.
One is simply more direct, more pure—less harm, less relived pain and shame felt in the process.
Accept yourself as the whole that you are—shining light on all the layers you’ve passed through to become.
You are whole, worthy, and complete.
All experiences.
The depths of despair are the springboard for the heights yet reached.
Look toward the sun…
and spring to new heights.
