Perspective and Power: How You Control Your Feelings
No matter where you stand NOW, in a field of daisies or at a busy help desk, in the middle of a war zone or on a yoga mat in meditation, your outlook is decided by you. You can zoom in on a problem and make it bigger in comparison to the rest of your surroundings, and it will seem, in fact, will be, bigger than all else. Or you can zoom in on a solution or something that brings you a bit of pleasure, and it too will be bigger than all else. It’s all about perspective. Some can be extremely unhappy in a mansion on a hill or happy in a tent in the desert. The choice is yours and yours alone in how you choose to feel.
You can and do experience disappointments in life, and when you do, notice how and where you may feel that in your body. Feel into it and know it hurts and where. That feeling, either guilt or disappointment, sorrow or anger, is always available to you and will live in that same spot. Knowing that gives you the power to create or control at any given time. You can pinpoint with precision and send your breath to it with intention and affect the feeling. Affect the feeling and your entire countenance will change.
Try it. You control your feelings.
