Mindful Presence: The Power of Attention

Seeing repetitive symbols, objects, or signs that you initially assigned to luck, and then later recognize as signs from the universe, can be considered a wink in your direction. A tip of the hat, a wink, or a small thumbs-up gesture is a sign that you are doing great and moving in the direction you have chosen. Assigning too much meaning beyond that isn’t necessary and may freeze you in your tracks, which is never the intent you set forth. It’s an affirmation, an "attaboy."

Living your best life is not only about doing what you feel is worthy, good, or noble, but also about engaging in what brings you great pleasure. A job well done is noble, no matter the task—whether it’s cleaning the house, raking the yard, or studying for an exam. It is the relish and self-assigned satisfaction derived from applying what you love, allowing yourself total immersion in what you choose to do.

Feel and be mindful in all your activities rather than going through the motions. Be present in everything, whether it is considered big or small. Bring your whole self to the game, the conversation, or the party. Be complete rather than scattered. Where your mind is, your body should also be, in order to fully experience satisfaction and enjoyment from the task or activity at hand.

Give yourself that nod, that wink, and simply BE—in all things, great or small. The signs and symbols that the universe, or YOU, put in place are affirming you. Acknowledge them, and continue knowing that all you do matters. Every action, when focused and mindful, is meaningful, potent, and pure. Nothing is wasted; nothing is missed. Your full attention is what changes worlds and brings smiles to your face and to others.
