Managing Emotional Pressure: Daily Strategies for Release
Atmospheric pressure is exactly as it is within your body and around you. Pressure builds as it gathers moisture from the air to a concentrated location, and it doesn't release until there's a prick in the air to release the rain, like the popping of a balloon releasing all the air.
You can have pressure build up in you in the form of emotions, and the prick that causes the release can be something seemingly unrelated. However, the rain of your emotional tirade will be released once the pressure has built. The key is to not allow the pressure to build to the point that anything outside can cause a flood of emotions.
At times, emotions are stored within your body, increasing until they reach an unhealthy level, causing them to manifest either as an illness or through emotional outbursts. Release daily or more often by meditation, intentional breathing, and joy. Laughter helps release built-up tension. Dancing, movement, or kinetic energy does the same.
Again, it doesn't have to be specifically related to the initial buildup of the pressure, as long as it's released. If allowed to build and compound, many isolated events will accumulate until the pressure is too much to contain. Release often.
