Greener Pastures of the Soul

Like a horse returning to its stable, you too are apt to return to familiarity— to patterns—rather than break the bonds that may not be comforting, but are comfortable.

But what if there were truly greener pastures—more care, more comfort—in the unseen, the inexperienced, the yet-to-be-known?

At times, the familiar haven you’ve relied upon may actually be holding you—imprisoning you—in a state your soul is ready to move from. Once you’ve saturated and received all the nourishment that place or pattern has to offer, you will feel the tug to seek more. Just as the body hungers for fresh nutrition, the soul hungers for fresh experience.

Like a bee seeking sweetness from a flower, you are meant to linger only as long as it provides for you. It is not natural—or sustaining—to remain where your needs are no longer met.

Without uprooting or upheaval, fulfillment can still be found. Look outward with openness rather than expecting what is outside of you to fill your inner needs. By following your internal guidance—when to move, when to be, when to do—you will fill your cup and create your own hive of honey: sweetness wherever you are.

Imprisonment, whether physical or of the mind, is still confinement. Yet freedom is always available.

Flit from one interest to another, from one activity to the next, until a new spark reveals itself. Allow pleasure to guide you forward. Then move again, and again.

Your joy is yours. It cannot be contained or diminished by anyone or anything outside of you.

Find your spark of life. Find your joy in all you do. Soon you will find yourself filled—in all situations.

Move freely. Live vividly. Spread your wings, and fly.
