Fear or Fun? Your Choice

Riding a raft, protected from debris in the fast-moving current, you may lean toward your sense of fun and adventure, or you may shrink to the back of the raft in abject terror. You will still go down the stream; your level of enjoyment is the only difference.

Why wouldn’t you lean into the wind and experience the thrill of the rapids and the unknown ahead? It is there for you—and by you.

The fear, if felt, is often the result of stories that have been relayed to you by others, or that you yourself chose to latch onto for the experience of experiencing that which you do not want. That seems counterintuitive, but it is sometimes the case—to feel that level of NO in your system, to let you know how it feels in its full force of recognition, so that you will discern it when it creeps up or begins to form in other situations.

You have the choice, before the full-fledged abject terror, to choose differently—so that you don’t end up shrinking from life, from an experience, from that which you chose to live. Never in the back of the raft, or under the covers, or hiding from the stream and flow of life—no matter what may come.

Go boldly where you’ve never gone. Experience it all. Use your internal guidance system—your emotions, your tiniest twinges even before emotions—to course-correct.

Even the most undesired is for you—to bounce back from, to give you the reason for never wanting to feel that again. To be able to look from a distance and know that the patch you were on was not what you wanted, so that you more clearly know what is your path.

Yes, even what to others may seem like dismal failure or definite wrongs—and they may judge—listen not at all. Every step, every so-called wrong direction, is the right direction. The correct guidance for you. Always for you—either to send you down your more intended path, or to give you a range of feelings and emotions to work with as a basis for the game.

All for you.

Like setting the rules of a game before beginning, before the first roll of the dice. Use your guidance—but enjoy it all.
