Expanding Capacity

Filled to capacity may be considered good or bad, depending on your reference point.

In the way of you and your being of joy — of your capacity for joy — it may seemingly fill to your maximum level, but know this: the very act of filling increases its capacity. There is no ending or finite measure to your immense capacity for joy.

It may be that you have not yet experienced what could be considered your maximum, but know that when you reach what seems to be the stopping point, the dial resets and expands. So feel all that you can — it will increase. And if you’re not yet aware of it, just keep going.

Similarly, if you want to go in the opposite direction, you may — but why would you? It has been said you bounce back when you hit rock bottom, but there is no true depth to the levels of despair you may experience should you choose to. Still, you may stop digging, take a rest, wipe the sweat from your brow and the tears from your eyes, and look up at the sun, the sky, and the clouds — knowing you are still here, still experiencing life’s offerings.

Choose to put down the shovel. Walk to a different spot. Notice the flowers in bloom — they are always there in abundance, whether blossoming or cut, awaiting your awareness. Lean on the vibrations of others — plant, animal, or friend — for the steadiness required to stand again on your own accord.

The pillars of strength are within, but at times they require balance assistance before you feel the steadiness of flow and support that is always there. Find the things that bring even small modicums of pleasure, and soon the cup of your container will begin to fill again.

The overflow you reach will benefit others, just as others benefit you. Life has its ebbs and flows — ride the waves of continuum to reach the new, unknown heights of joy that are yet to come.
